9/19/20

Physical: Large and sturdy 6-foot-5, 250-pound frame with noticeable strength in the lower half to go along with durability in the build. 7.90 runner in the 60-yard dash. Concordia College commit. Offensively: RHH. Tall, upright stance with a tiny bend in the knees as the hands started idle resting flat on the shoulder in the setup. Utilized solid hip coil in the box and a shoulder turn inward in order to begin a lift and replace stride to initiate the hands through a slightly uphill path and into the hitting zone. Stayed behind the baseball extremely well allowing the hands to explode through impact and towards extension, good direction in the box with ability to sink down into a strong and powerful lower half, matched pitch plane early, did damage on pitches out over the plate. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 97 mph per Trackman Baseball, a 366 foot maximum batted ball distance displays the legitimate power he possesses, 46% hard hit rate during his round. Defensively: The primary first baseman featured long, jerky actions with a soft glove hand at the fielding window and a medium center of gravity on the approach, used inside footwork on double play turns and got the ball out relatively quickly on transfers. Accurate, high ¾ slot on throws across the diamond. INF - 81 mph Pitching: RHP - Starts from the stretch only off of the left side of the rubber, medium leg lift and held direction while driving off of the backside towards the plate, landed slightly closed creating some crossfire out of a low ¾ slot with arm side run on the FB ranging from 77-79 T81 mph. Played heavy into the zone and mixed in a quality 70-72 mph breaker with 1935 spin per Trackman Baseball and command in the zone, showed 11/5 tilt. Countered with a 68-70 mph CH with adequate deception and straight action to it.

8/25/20

Physical: 6-foot-4, 250 pounds; large frame, sturdy build. 8.38 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Weight primarily shifted onto the back leg. Maintains a 45 degree bat angle; small leg kick where the weight fully loads onto back foot and then front foot slams down initiating swing. Fairly active lower half with some flashes of aggressive movements with uphill swing that allowed him to create bove average lift on the baseball. Lifted some deep drives to his pull side, clear evidence of big bat power; peak Trackman exit velocity of 100 MPH.
Defensively: Pops of the bag well, stays low; stays low through the field and throw process. Good hands with an iffy transfer at times, occasionally reaching for the ball; long arm swing with good hand speed through a high 3/4 slot. INF - 80 MPH.
Pitching: Low effort in the delivery, shows good rhythm and tempo going down the slope. Long, swinging arm path from a high 3/4 slot. FB: T 82MPH, 80-82 MPH. Fastball worked well when it was down in the zone, has some heavy action to it. CB: 67 MPH. Curveball at times had more gloveside slider movement to it, lived in the zone. CH: 68-70 MPH. Changeup gives a good change in speed, good ground ball inducing pitch.

7/29/19

Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance feet shoulder width apart. Simple load actions before attacking the hitting zone. Slight lift at point of contact. Displayed hard consistent contact. Good use of the lower half. Defensively- the 1B displayed active footwork. Smooth exchange and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. De Risi moves well laterally and around the bag. The 2021 graduate is projectable and is a must follow as he continues to develop.
