The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Lean 5-foot-8, 155lb frame with some athleticism and feel for the game; 7.55 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent, balanced stance as the hands operated flat at the shoulder to start. Utilized a leg kick stride on time with a barrel tip to initiate the bat head through a flat, connected path into the hitting zone. Got to good lower half positions at impact, properly sequencing into a stiff front side allowing for efficiency and good rotational scores (50% line drive rate via Trackman). Ready bat to ball skills in a top of the order type approach, staying on the barrel up to a T85 mph bat-exit velocity (doubles power on occasion to pull).
Defensively: The primary backstop featured mature actions in the crouch, receiving softly from a traditional setup. Pop times ranged from 1.99-2.09 with good timing in the footwork (replaced well) as the arm created tangible whip at a H ¾ slot (fluid, on target, 72 mph strength). Slid over to the middle infield, setting up on time from a wide base at the fielding window and working with an accurate glove-hand in front. Funneled cleanly, shuffling and finishing throws to the target at a 75 mph peak.
2/17/21
Physical: Compact, strong 5-foot-8, 145-pound frame with some strength present in the actions. 7.34 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - The righty started from a balanced, loose setup with a slight bend in the knees as the elbows moved rhythmically with the barrel idle on the shoulder. Utilized a leg lift stride while staying behind the baseball well in order to deliver the bat head through a lofty, slightly uphill approach (46% fly ball rate). Recorded a 300+ foot batted ball distance pointing towards doubles power at the moment to the LCF gap, though most of the results were hard hit through the middle of the field. Notched an 86 mph bat-exit velocity with room for more; smooth operation with low-effort at the plate.
Defensively: The primary backstop flashed developing confidence in the receiving skills with solid pocket awareness. Worked hard during the block phase with ability to get out and around balls in the dirt off of either corner, deadening the blow with soft, down chest angles. Glove hand moved first and the technique was crisp, interesting defender.
7/22/20
Physical: Strong, compact 5-foot-7, 145-pound frame with power in the lower half. 7.58 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, narrow stance with a slight bend in the knees upon setup as the hands start idle at the shoulder and the elbows flap loosely. Utilized a leg-kick stride to initiate his swing through an athletic, slightly uphill path with lift to the middle of the field during batting practice. Demonstrated adjustability in the lower half as he continually changed his posture depending on the depth of the pitch. Was able to go down and get it when pitched below the belt and peppered the gaps more than a few occasions during a solid BP round. Record a top bat-exit velocity of 87 mph per Trackman Baseball while really getting through extension with fluidity.
Defensively: The primary backstop showed a soft glove hand with minimal movement at the catch point while receiving. Pop times ranged from 2.34-2.40 while demonstrating a solid throwing arm out of a high ¾ slot with a full arm circle. Gets stuck sometimes between transfer and throw, and with quicker catch and release skills could hover around 2.15-2.20. Moved well laterally during blocks beating the ball to the spot with recovery abilities. C - 70 mph … The primary middle infielder displayed adequate footwork arriving to the spot on time with a moderately low center of gravity. The hands worked softly out in front of the middle of his body with an accurate throwing arm across the diamond. SS - 72 mph
2/19/20

Feet shoulder width apart, slight bend in the knees, small leg kick/ short stride towards the pitcher to start a simple load action, head stays on the ball throughout swing Long upward swing, hands get out in front and directly to the ball, strong two handed finish. Line drives, up the middle approach. 78 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: C: 2.06-2.14 pop times. Low stance, firm stick, smooth two step footwork leading into accurate throws around the bag. Long arm swing, 3/4 arm slot- 74 MPH. INF: prep hop for timing; fields ball out front; able to play laterally and on the run INF: 3/4 arm slot; short arm swing INF - 74 MPH.
