Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 170lb frame with even proportions. 7.43 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Wide, crouched attack at a lower posture as the hands started with rhythm by the head. Utilized a directional lift and replace stride on-time with a quick, efficient launch through a flat path into the hitting zone. Worked into a stiff front-side with ability to turn over the rear hip producing some lift in the approach (30% line drive rate, 30% fly ball rate via Trackman). Found success with early connection in the swing, matching pitch-plane and recording a T87 mph bat-exit velocity (extra-base hits on occasion to RCF gap). Stayed in the legs and within himself during gameplay, featuring ready bat to ball skills and a possible top of the order type skillset down the road.
Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated down chest angles, approaching at a moderate base while bending at the waist. A soft glove hand fielded off the left side, exchanging cleanly and releasing from a H ¾ slot (accurate, 73 mph arm strength, corner outfield projection). Adequate pace and showed good reads off the bat in the air, getting the body to advantageous positions.
2/17/21
Physical: Long and lean 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with good proportions; room to add strength. 7.36 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: LHH - The lefty started from a balanced, even stance from a wide start, the hands began flat over the shoulder with slight wiggle to start; utilized a controlled leg kick stride in order to initiate the bat head through a repeatable, flat path into the hitting zone. Worked into a stiff front leg at impact allowing for solid body positioning in the box; mostly pull-side approach with length at times in the swing, showcased feel for the hands evidenced by an intriguing 76% on-plane efficiency per Blast Motion, adjustable lower half yielded a change of barrel angles on the way through depending on pitch location, up to an 89 mph bat-exit velocity with room for more giving way to a 338 foot max batted ball distance. Defensively: The primary outfielder flashed a bounce in the prep step encouraging downhill momentum through the fielding window, attacking play while fielding off the left side of his body, big gather move with a high-intent, lengthy high ¾ slot at release (75 mph arm strength).
7/22/20
Physical: Lean, high-waisted 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame with length in the actions and room to fill out as he matures. Offensively: LHH. Wide, balanced stance with the hands showing slight rhythm above the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a leg-lift stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone with some drift into a stiff front side. Delivered a strong top hand to contact while occasionally getting steep with the attack angle. When the hands stayed inside the baseball, elevated the ball to the pull-side and middle of the field with ability to plug the RCF gap with regularity. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 83 mph per Trackman Baseball during batting practice. Defensively: The primary outfielder featured adequate footwork arriving to the ball on time with a moderately low center of gravity. Fielded the ball slightly off the inside of his left foot with a moderate feel for catch and throw skills towards the target. The arm worked from his position out of a high ¾ slot. OF - 66 mph …. Demonstrated a quick first step and occasional range to the glove hand side while working out in the middle infield during defensive evaluations. A soft glove hand played low to the ground with adequate feel for his feet. Made the throw on the run from multiple arm angles; arm projects best at 2B at the moment. IF - 63 mph
