Danny is an athletic 6-foot-0 172 pound 1B/RHP that ran a 4.84 home to 1B with a 77 MPH exit velocity. Offensively- Danny starts from an even and balanced stance with his weight preloaded and a head high hand position with a 45 degree bat angle. Circles the bat barrel during load finding proper separation off shoulder. Uses a slight leg kick that gains ground for a stride. Stays behind the ball into contact but rolls over front side. Could benefit from a more aggressive lower half. Some uphill tilt to swing path with a high finish to his extension. Defensively- Handles the glove well at 1B with proper throwing footwork to 2B. Hands stay out in front and body gets into proper position. 63 MPH on throws to 2B, more in the tank here as he wasn't letting it go. Pitching- Danny uses a short side step up to a compact balance point. Rides back leg into a closed landing. Long arm action, coming through a 3/4 slot. Front side is firm but would like to see an accelerated finish up and over front leg. Arm side action on both FB (67-68, topping 70MPH) and change up (61-62 MPH). Curveball was commanded for a strike at 60-61 MPH with some 1-to-7 early action. Room for additional arm speed and an extended finish.
