Uses a quick toe-tap and minimal forward move to initiate swing. Hands stay loose and show consistent rhythm during his load. Quick, fluid swing. Hands stay tight to the body to keep everything connected. Level barrel path into the zone with lift after contact. Keeps head still and remains balanced throughout. Defensively – Quick, athletic defensive actions. Plays with noticeable bounce in his step. Maintains body control while moving laterally. Stays in a wide base when funneling ball in. Head stays down over glove hand. Smooth, loose arm action with low ¾ release.

Almonte is a 5-foot-7, 146 pound middle infielder with a slight, athletic build. Offensively- Simple stance with some weight on his back leg. Almonte will use a slight toe tap pre pitch; level swing with no wasted movement when making contact and some lift after his swing. Almonte worked the middle and opposite field during batting practice. Defensively- Almonte shows rhythm and athletic actions when fielding a ground ball; stays low and moves well laterally and gets to the throwing position quickly with a quick release. Almonte projects as a solid second basemen at the next level. Continued physical gains and arm strength will continue to help his game.

Almonte stands in at 5-foot-7, 146-pounds. Ran a 7.65 – 60. Offensively- Smooth trigger prior to pitch. Utilizes lower body well getting whole frame involved in the swing. Has a level barrel path throughout the zone demonstrating line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side. Recorded an exit velocity of 70 MPH. Defensively- Good approach to the baseball with fluid footwork. Tends to double tap on the transition costing time, but does get the ball out and on the way quick. Moves well left/right and in on the run with accurate throws. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 77 MPH.
