Checks in at a lean 6-foot-0; 170 pounds. Offensively- Narrow and open setup Short take back with a leg kick back to even. Throws hands on a downward plae with a one-handed around the backside finish. Exit velocity of 82 MPH. Line drive, middle of the field results. Defensively- Catches out everything out in front on glove side, limited crow hop with a short snap throw release at 82 MPH. Cleaner with approach, exchange with ball on the ground then in the air. Pitching- Mid chest leg drive to his balance point with a slight coil. Works through/around front knee at landing vs. getting over the top. Low 3/4 slot with some late arm speed; infield arm path after breaking hands. Late arm side life with FB, peaking at 85 MPH. Sweeping breaking ball with some early action at 71-73, would benefit from more of a slider approach here. Still feeling out his change up at 67-69 MPH. Some cleanup work within his delivery and an extended arm action will help Murrary reach his ceiling on the mound.
Last Chance Preview (November 29, 2015)
Demitri stands an athletic 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Offensively-At the plate his set up is athletic with his weight shifted back, hands high, small leg kick for timing, short path to the ball, barrel stays level through contact, with some lift on the finish. Ran of 4.45 home - to - 1st time. Defensively- he stays behind the ball with a crow hop for momentum. Arm action is back, elbow goes slightly towards left-field, throws from the mid 3/4-slot with above average hand-speed, cuts off his finish at times. Pitching- On the mound there's a lot to like. Slower paced delivery hands high, uses good shoulder and hip separation. Arm action is back and hooks behind his body, releases with above average hand speed from a mid 3/4-slot, fastball maxed out at 83 mph, arms side run. He throws a curveball that has more side to side sweeping action vs downward depth.
