NY Games (June 27-29, 2016)

Mederios sits in at 6-foot-4; 180 pounds with a tall athletic frame. Offensively-Slightly open with weight balanced and hands in front of back shoulder. On pitch trigger is a quiet step forward with hands moving back slightly into a good hitting position. Quick hands on pitch keep his bat plane short to the hitting zone with good bat action throughout. High two handed finish at his shoulders with good lower body rotation. Displayed an exit velocity of 86 mph (+1 from Feb. 2016). Room to grow as he gets stronger. Defensively- Reads fly balls well off bat. Gets in good position behind baseball to set up to throw. Has strong arm from outfield show a position velocity of 82 mph. Threw out a runner at home plate tagging up at 3rd base in NYS Games with impressive throw from deep Right Field. Pitching-Quiet delivery with a high knee raise and good lower body action. Good arm action and glove side rotation with an efficient follow through getting into good fielding position. Fastball topped at 78 mph with effective secondary pitches being a curve (66 mph) and a changeup (67 mph).

Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)

Now seeing Mederios for the second time, the Liverpool junior continues to show some next-level skills. Offensively - slightly open stance, upright with his hands away from his head. On the pitch he uses a no-stride, shorter path to the ball, good position at contact with his head on the contact zone, short extension around his shoulders. Shows above average exit-velocity at 85 mph. Defensively - athletic frame with good side to side action to the ball, gets behind the ball using a smooth crow-hop on his throws. Clean arm action with some signs of arm-strength at 82 MPH, releases from a high-3/4 slot with good carry. Pitching - quicker pace to his delivery, belt high knee lift, clean arm-action with proper drive towards home. Releases from a high-3/4 slot with a fastball that topped 78 mph. Change-up showed good arm-side fade sitting 67. With some added strength, Mederios has the hand-speed to gain several MPH to his fastball.

Eastern NY All-Star Games (September 13, 2015)

Stands at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, with an athletic body build. Defensively – In the outfield he has a good approach through the ball, with smooth, soft hands, throws with a clean loose action, over the top arm action, plays through the ball good and has accuracy on the target. Pitching - On the mound, he uses a simple side step, balanced delivery, arm action is fairly clean and loose, throws with an over the top arm slot. He exhibits good command with a fastball max at 77 MPH. Offensively - At the plate his setup is relaxed, athletic, and very balanced, short stride, with a smooth load. His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level to upward tilt plane, good extension through the ball. Good exit velo show power potential.
