Dylan is a lanky 6-foot-3 170 pound 1B/LHP who ran a 7.42 60 and a 4.18 home-to-1B (LHH). Offensively- Dylan sets up in a slightly spread stance with his weight tilted back with a hand position even with the back of his head and a flat bat angle. Short load and stride for his timing, staying behind the ball into contact. Gets through the ball well with lower half with a short swing into the zone. Some cross action to his finish, out of the zone. Groundball/line drive results to his pull side. Exit velocity was 71 MPH. Defensively- At 1B Dylan starts low, shuffling laterally for groundballs. Hands get in front and uses a short arm action. Velocity was at 52 MPH on throws across to 3B. Will need to be more active with feet on groundballs and with footwork around the bag. Pitching- Dylan sets up slightly to his arm side, using a short side step up to a 3/4 chest high balance point. Arm action has some stabbing motion to it but stays long, working through a low 3/4 arm slot. Stays closed into landing with some spin off to the 3B line. Would like to see a more assertive follow through with increased arm extension. FB peaked at 64 MPH with changeup showing down action at 58-60 MPH. Breaking ball was more slurve like at 53-54 MPH with some early action. Improved arm action and arm speed will help with the feel of his secondary stuff.
