Last Chance Preview - Long Island (October 8, 2018)
Proportional, developing build at 5-foot-9, 147-pounds. Offensively – Balanced, slightly crouched set up with feet square to pitcher. Bat rests on back shoulder before loading as he gets into coiled leg lift. Shows adjustability with lower half during swing. Hands work down to the ball with a loose, quick swing. Gap-to-gap approach during BP with high, one-handed finish. Quality feel for the barrel. Defensively – In the OF, balanced and controlled strides when moving laterally. Keeps momentum behind the baseball. Long, loose arm action with high, over the top release point. Uses a side shuffle to get more power into throws. At 1B, solid footwork around the bag. Keeps upper body stacked over the ball when funneling into throws. Glove hand stays centered. Exchanges into throws quickly. Similar arm slot that he uses in OF but more compact arm action.
