8/25/20

Physical: 6-foot-5, 191 pounds; long, twitchy frame. Frame could easily add more weight/muscle.
Pitching: Worked exclusively out of the stretch with good tempo down the mound. Engages the back leg well rotating into it on foot strike very efficiently. Loose, strong actions through the throwing window with a 3/4 slot.
FB: T 88 MPH, 85-88 MPH. Fastball looked very good in the bottom half of the zone with some "heavy" presence to it. CB: MPH. SL: 75 MPH. The slider haf very good tilt to it, late action away from a RHH just before the plate; tunnels very well off his FB. CH: 75-76 MPH. Changeup flashed good horizontal break to arm side with a good change in speed compared to his FB. SPLT; 76-77 MPH. Flashed a splitter with some good downhill armside action to it, falls off the table. Could be a very valuable pitch to tunnel off changeup due to the similarity in arm speed but large difference in action.

7/28/20

6-foot-5, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. The frame is long and thin railed. The arms and legs fit the mold of a big league pitchers body. The fastball sat at 84-85 mph, downhill at times. The spin pitch was 73-75 mph, solid in shape and form. The changeup was 71-73 mph, spins wide but the velocity is appropriate. The feet are online and the slot is above 3/4. The arm works clean and free. The lift is repeated, solid in tempo and he shows forward lean to the plate. He also showed a hand pump to start the delivery. The direction of the top half can stay online longer to increase extension as he has pull to the glove side. The hand speed on the secondary pitches needs to remain the same as the fastball hand speed, as he slows the hand down a bit on the spin and changeup. The ability and projection is outstanding. I would like to see him be more assertive on the mound. His stuff is good enough to pitch with a good deal of confidence.
