WNY All-Star Game (September 24, 2017)
Rodriguez stands at a solid 6-foot-1, 200-pounds as a corner infielder. Offensively – Rodriguez begins with a slightly open stance, knee bend, and high hands close to his head and right shoulder. He has good elbow posture and is relaxed prior to the pitch. Rodriguez uses a long leg stride to begin his swing, pushes his hands straight back, and moves his weight to his backside. He has an aggressive hip rotation to the point of contact, quick hands and makes solid contact. Rodriguez shows line drive potential and finishes mid-high on his follow through but remains balanced. He has a powerful exit velocity of 86 MPH. Defensively – Rodriguez has a skillful approach prior to fielding the ball. He has active footwork for his size, and stays balanced over the ball with hands out in front. Rodriquez gathers the ball and uses a strong arm to his target. He releases at a ¾ arm angle and can improve with a quickened release to his target. Rodriguez has an arm velocity of 69 MPH across the diamond.
Campus Series-Canisius (July 5, 2017)
Rodriguez stands in at 6-foot-0, 175-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 4.59 home to first. Offensively- Sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside shoulder width leaning back towards the catcher. Shows a slight knee bend in the back leg with his front leg extended. Has an upright torso holding the bat above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a slow stride forward while moving his hands back into his hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing his hips and getting his whole-body frame involved in the swing. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage with line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side during batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 85 MPH, up 3 MPH from his previously recorded mark of 82 MPH in September 2016. Defensively- Good footwork and approach to the baseball. Moves well off the bag at first setting himself up for a clear throw. Athletic footwork with throws across the diamond and will have ability for the double play off first. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 72 MPH, a 6 MPH improvement from September 2016.
NY All-Star Games (September 17, 2016)
Rodriguez stands in at 6-foot-0, 175-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.08 – 60, an improvement from Grant’s previously recorded time of 7.48 at the Fall Prospect Games in October 2015. Offensively- Sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside the shoulders. Weight is evenly distributed in lower half with an upright stance. Hands held high above back shoulder with pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch his trigger is knee raise into a stride forward while his hands move back into a good hitting position. Quick hands and bat path into the hitting zone with good barrel action into a high two handed finish. Good rotation on bottom half. Tends to keep weight back throughout the entire swing and is upright at contact. Can improve with a more aggressive approach attacking the baseball versus letting it get deep in the hitting zone. Groundball/line drive results. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 MPH which is a 12 mph improvement from October 2015. Defensively- Good footwork getting in front of the ball. Transition from glove to throwing hand is ok. Fielding process needs to be quicker with an infielder arm swing. Can improve with more reps and added strength. Displayed a position velocity of 66 MPH, a 5 mph improvement from October 2015.
Fall Prospect Games (October 11 & 12, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, solidly built frame. He ran a 60 yard dash time of 7.48. Defensively – At first base he field the ball out in front of his body, keeping his lower half low.  Works through the ball, shuffling his feet before releasing the ball to his target.  He throws with a high 3/4 arm slot from first base and has an arm strength of 61 mph. Offensively – At the plate he sets up balanced, a leg kick stride, with a back load.  Starts his hands high by shoulder, with weight shift back, he loads hands back, then swinging on an upward tilt through the ball.  He raises body up through contact, finishing high with weight on backside.  His exit velocity was 70 mph.
