5-foot-10, 175-pound strong athletic frame. Above average at the plate, Hayner had an exit velocity of 91 mph. (71.2 mph bat speed average). (23.3 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic quiet stance with a smooth compact load, then used a controlled stride. Has electric bat speed, short level swing plane and high good extension on his finish. Found lots of barrels with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Above average projectable in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 78 mph; shows quick in control feet, soft twitchy hands, and a clean natural exchange. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Showed a slot and a short quick arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.2. Advanced projectable on the mound, showing lightning arm speed he had a arm angle and a loose very quick arm action.Tall-and-fall up-tempo type pitcher and shows easy effort. Displays even shoulders with an strong balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 83-86 mph; has a heavy fastball that shows sinking hard action and arm side control. (Max spin 2392;Avg 2209). His 1/7 curveball (69-70) shows late slurvey action and glove side command. (Max spin 2193; Avg 2120). Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a one-handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 90 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH.
Pitching: Hayner uses a glove side setup working primarily from the stretch. Belt high leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while showing some scap load, while working through a high 3/4 slot. Recoils with finish. FB: Peak velo of 85 MPH, while sitting 83-85 MPH; life through the zone. SL: 74-76 MPH; short action. CH: 79-80 MPH; fading action.
