July 31, 2018 - St. Bonaventure
Well built, durable build. Even setup in the box, short to the ball, loose hands, ball jumps to his pull-side, high end bat-speed, slight lift in his swing, full finish with impressive 94 mph exit velo. Defensively, stays behind the ball, uses his lower half well, quick arm-action, above average carry. 3B fields the ball out in front of his body, moves his feet towards the bag, clean actions, strong arm, glove is soft, release from mid-3/4 slot.

Big frame. Thick upper body. Strong arm. Stays compact working to the ball but could improve extension after contact. Good bat speed and the potential for more power. 92 mph with strength in the swing.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
Tryon is a 6-foot 200-pound right handed third baseman who ran a 7.37 60; strong athletic frame. Offensively- Starts shoulder width apart, slight bend in knees with hands and elbow high. Quiet pick up of front leg for timing; drives hands through the hitting zone generating fast bat speed. Explosive through the zone; line drive results with easy effort.  89 MPH exit velocity off the tee. Defensively- Good fielding mechanics that allows for easy transfer and strong throw. Uses whole frame in throw to generate 81 MPH arm strength. Projects as a middle to the lineup player who can handle the corners and may eventually run well enough for a corner OF spot if necessary.
Campus Series- St. Bonaventure (July 11, 2017)
Tryon stands in at 6-foot-0, 200-pounds with a strong athletic frame. Ran a 4.76 home to first. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet wide outside shoulder width. Has a vertical body holding the bat above the bat shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick stride forward while his hands move back slightly getting into a good hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting his hips cleared and using his whole-body frame in the swing process. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with an upward lift barrel action throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage and line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side during batting practice round. Clean, fluid swing with potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH. Defensively- Good approach and footwork towards the baseball. Fielding mechanics are clean with a quick funnel into the chest and appropriate transition into the throwing position. Has aggressive footwork towards intended target and made accurate throws. Moves well left/right and in on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 81 MPH. Pitching- Sets up in the middle of the rubber with a simple side step into a high leg raise above the hip crease. Breaks down hell with good separation into a high ¾ release point. Could engage lower half into the delivery with a better follow through to get in a good fielding position. Will come with more strength and development. Fastball range was 73-74 MPH and peaked at 76 MPH showing cut action. Curveball was 62-64 MPH with 12/6 action. Change up was 64-66 MPH with good arm side sink.
