Gutierrez stands in at 5-foot-10, 140-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.0 – 60. Offensively- Talented switch hitter with good mechanics from both sides. From both sides he sets up in an open stance with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding his hands in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise to stride forward squaring up to the pitcher while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Shows quick hands to the zone with a level barrel path throughout with a strong finish. Has good lower body rotation on both sides getting whole frame involved in swing. Demonstrated ability to hit line drives up the middle and pull slide during batting practice round. Clean, fluid swing with potential for growth. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH from the left side and 83 MPH from the right. Defensively- Shows a good approach getting to the baseball. Crow hop mechanics are fluid with a quick transition from glove to throwing position. Shows an appropriate outfielder arm swing gaining ground throughout the process of the movement. Moves well left/right and was accurate on throws. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 82 MPH.
