Notes

Comments

6/28/21

Physical: Lengthy, high-waisted 6-foot-2, 150lb frame with lots of projection. 7.29 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Wide, even stance as the hands started at a 45 with some rhythm at the shoulder to begin. Utilized a deliberate leg lift, connecting to the ground in order to initiate through a flat, rotational path into the hitting zone. Produced good leverage out at the front of the plate, matching pitch-plane and hitting the ball hard in the air to the pull-side (39% fly ball rate via Trackman). Notched a T88 mph bat-exit velocity en route to a 290 foot batted ball distance suggesting mostly singles power at the moment, extra-base hits on occasion. Ability to continue filling out with likeable actions in the box; will become a possible middle of the order piece as he gains more strength.

Defensively: The primary shortstop featured rhythmic actions, getting to spots on the field with long strides and a lower posture, and playing downhill to the target. A soft glove hand led the way, funneling smoothly and released from an accurate, H ¾ slot across the diamond (good arm strength, 83 mph arm, repeated).

2/19/21

Physical: 6’2 150lb MIF ran a 7.40 laser timed 60-yard dash. Thin frame with good height as room to add mass and strength with time.

Offensively: He starts in a wide stance with his hands high and pre-loaded as he uses a short left lift and stride to engage his timing mechanism. He shows good barrel control and adjustability throughout the swing as his bat gets in the zone and stays through the ball consistently.

Defensively: He uses very active feet and short choppy steps as he approaches the ball with a low center of gravity. His hands stay low and play underneath the ball as he funnels into the center of his body. His arm works quick and whippy on the throws to his target. He also shows the ability to move laterally and change arm slots depending on the throw he's making.

2/20/20

Physical: 6-foot-0, 145-pounds. Long, wiry frame with plenty of room for added weight. 7.55 runner in the 60; 4.65 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Tall, upright stance with an even base, hands start back and loaded, uses a small leg lift for timing Direct, flat barrel path to and through the point of contact with a high finish. Hard contact up the middle and to his pull side. 79 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Choppy, consistent footwork on approach, gets low with the ball and works from the ground up, smooth lateral movements. Medium arm swing with a 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 81 MPH.

A lean frame at 5-foot-10, 130 pounds. Ran an 8.22 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with feet shoulder width apart. No stride, short load and quick path to the baseball. Flat bat path through the hitting zone. Could use more lower half. Top exit velocity 68 MPH. Defensively- Sits back on the baseball. Shows above average funnel action. Quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. Displayed good footwork when gaining momentum on throws across the infield.  Top throwing velocity 67 MPH.
