The right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance with feet shoulder width apart. Short simple load. Flood drove the baseball all over the field during batting practice. Does a good job staying balanced throughout the swing. Finishes with a one hand follow through. Defensively, Flood first worked out in the outfield. Flood displayed active footwork during this session. Stays under control when approaching the baseball and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot on throws to the plate. As a catcher, Flood should fast twitch actions. Displays a big target for the pitcher, smooth exchange ans quick release from a mid 3/4 arm slot.
Matthew is a 5’10 160 lb 3B/RHP that ran a 4.7 home-to-first. Offensively: Hits with a slightly open stance, strides towards the pitcher.
