At the plate, starts wide with his weight slightly shifted back and feet open. Hands begin high and move down and back during the load. Small leg kick, stays on time. Creates some pre pitch rhythm. Brings his bat angle up late. Smooth weight transfer. Swing stays compact with some barrel awareness. Recorded a top positional velo of 70 MPH with pop times ranging from 2.15-2.31 seconds. Makes a quick transfer near his body after receiving the ball. Stays athletic through throws. Feet direction stays in line. Short, compact arm action.
Physical: 5-foot-9, 180 pounds; lean build, strong lower half. 7.89 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even stance with no weight shifted more to either leg, upright bat with a lifted back elbow. Coils up his torso and tips the bat toward the pitcher A simple stride forward allows him to get the lower half moving. Average use of the lower half, just rolling the hips through with an uphill swing path and shoulders that match the bat plane. Showcased his ability to go the other way and consistently find barrels; peak Trackman exit velocity of 85 MPH.
Defensively: C/3B: Wide feet, sits low to the ground / Straight up with some weight shifted on his toes; C/3B: moves well out of the crouch, quick feet and good movement to the target / gets to the ball with short, choppy steps to keep his weight under him. C/3B: soft hands that receive well, clean transfer / fields out in front with good hands and a smooth transfer; C/3B: moderate arm swing with hand speed from a short 3/4 slot / long arm swing with loose actions from a high 3/4 slot. 2.15-2.34 pop times. Offensively: RHH. Tall, slightly bent at the knee’s stance, small leg kick, very simple load action, hands shoulder high with little movement, small step towards the pitcher Upward swing, quick bat that gets through the zone, strong hands, long one-handed finish. Line drives pull side, solid contact opposite/middle. 81 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: 2.07-2.12 pop times. Low stance, standard glove work, above average footwork, smooth ball transition with a quick release, gains ground on throws to second base, solid blocking. Medium arm swing, 3/4 arm slot. C - 71 MPH.
