Physical: Strong, athletic 5-foot-10, 180lb frame with feel for his body. 7.46 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Loose, even setup as the hands showed rhythm slotted lower at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride with a mature operation, landing in-line and initiating through a flat, adjustable path into the hitting zone. Good usage of the top hand, playing direct and inside the baseball producing consistent line drive contact to the middle of the field (33% line drive rate via Trackman). Notched a T86 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak, working up to a 277 foot batted ball distance with singles power at the moment. Prototypical top of the order type skillset with low swing/miss rates and some finesse, finding barrels.
Defensively: The primary backstop demonstrated a lower, narrow stance at traditional in the crouch; received softly on the corners, absorbing the ball into the pocket. Pop times ranged from 1.99-2.05 with good, replaceable footwork and a quick trigger from a shorter, H ¾ slot (73 mph arm, accurate). Then slid over to the middle infield, bouncing the feet in anticipation at the “prep step” and gained ground downhill over the front-side. Came and got it, shuffling at a low posture, and releasing from H ¾ slot to the target (81 mph arm, positional flexibility available).
Physical: 5-foot-10, 180 lb strong, athletic build. 7.34 runner in the 60.
Offensively: Wide, slightly open stance, hands have some waggle starting back and in to the shoulder; low leg lift back to even as the front shoulder turns in pushing the hands back and back elbow up creating barrel tilt; strong effort from the lower half hitting into a stiff front side; swing is direct to contact with whip through the zone to a slight uphill to hand finish yielding hard line drives through the big part of the field with a peak exit velo of 89 MPH per Trackman.
Defensively: C- Low to the ground, balanced set up; straight line foot work with quick catch and release ability; arm action is quick from behind the ear with strong accurate throws. C 77 MPH. INF- Athletic foot work with good rhythm through the ball; glove is soft with quick, clean transfers and has the ability to throw from multiple arm angles while making the play on the run. INF: 84 MPH
