July 1, 2017
Miglino showed some added arm strength and accurate, on-the-bag throws from the outfield. At the plate he maintains a balance setup with a compact swing, utilizing all fields. Table-setter type approach with good plate coverage.
Winter Open (February 12, 2017)
Miglino checks in at 5-foot-6 130 pounds, the OF ran a 7.24 (previous best was 7.14) 60 and a 4.25 home-to-1B. Offensively- Even setup with a controlled load of the hands straight back with a short stride. Stays behind the ball well with an aggressive lower half; short stroke into the zone with a 2-handed finish. Line drives through the middle to his pull side; contact plays better then his 77 MPH exit velocity (+9 MPH improvement from October). Repeats efforts; table-setter approach. Defensively- Aggressive approach into the ball; fields outside his lead foot with a fundamental crowhop with a moderate to short arm circle. Gets to his release quickly without rushing; demonstrated body control. Possibly a longer arm circle will help contribute to overall arm strength (73 MPH). Did improve by 5 MPH from October. Scrappy player who fits a LF/CF mold at the next level.
Big Apple Preview (October 8, 2016)
Miglino stands in at 5-foot-6, 130-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.14 – 60. Offensively- Lefty sets up with his feet outside his shoulders with knees bent slightly and an upright torso. Hands held just above back shoulder with slight pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch his trigger is a load back with a quiet stride forward with his hands moving back into a good hitting position. Good lower body rotation creating torque allowing whole body to get into swing. Decent bat path getting into hitting zone with a level swing into a high two handed finish. Timing is slightly off allowing ball to get too deep into hitting zone before attacking. Focusing on seeing the ball out of the pitcher's hand will improve timing. When timing was consistent Miglino was hitting line drives in Right Center gap.  Recorded an exit velocity of 68 MPH. Defensively- Good footwork and approach to baseball from the outfield. Moves well left/right with decent crow hop mechanics into a throwing position. Release and follow through have an uphill tendency. Will improve power and accuracy in throw by working on throwing downhill through the intended target. Recorded a positional velocity of 68 MPH.
