7/22/20

Physical: Lean, advanced athlete in a 6-foot, 160-pound frame with projectability present in the build. 6.98 60-yard dash runner.

Offensively: RHH. Wide, balanced stance with the hands showing slight rhythm by the ear in the setup. Utilized a short and quick toe-tap stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Gets occasional length and “pull” of the barrel through the zone, but overall found solid timing at the front of the plate with ability to live head high in the middle of the field. Generated natural lift after contact creating backspin to the pull-side gap when pitched out over the plate. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 81 mph during batting-practice per Trackman Baseball with room for more usage of the lower half at the plate. Quality feel for the hands in the box should allow for positive game results to continue.

Defensively: The primary backstop featured a multitude of likeable qualities behind the dish, showcased a soft glove hand with minimal movement at the catch point, pop times ranged from 1.99-2.15 on accurate throws out of a short, high ¾ slot with quickness in the arm. Got directional towards the back well coupled with above-average catch and throw skills to get rid of the ball in a hurry. Worked hard for his pitchers while blocking; repeatedly beat the ball to the spot with soft downward chest angles. C - 76 mph

Pitching: RHP - Side rocker step, slow and deliberate tempo in the delivery, compact leg lift with hip coil at the top of a tall stack, stayed tall on the land while falling off slightly on the release towards first base. The arm worked through a high ¾ slot with slight downhill plane on a 77-80 mph FB, mixed in a 61-64 mph CB with 11/5 shape and late depth.
