Downstate Unsigned Senior Games (October 22, 2017)
Solid 5-foot-9 180 pound RHP/3B who ran a 7.37 60. Offensively- Open setup with some pre-pitch bat waggle; drives knee up before gaining ground forward. Aggressive lower half with explosive hands through the zone. Pounded the ball to left center. Exit velocity of 93 MPH. Defensively- Definite left side arm strength at 85 MPH across the diamond. Active feet, fields with glove side foot hanging back creating a odd angle for his throwing footwork. Might benifit to possible corner OF switch if looked at as a two-way player at the college level. Pitching- Starts center rubber angled towards the 3B line, slight drop step working up to a mid-chest balance point. Extended reach back with throwing arm; low 3/4 slinger's release. Tends to pull fastball to glove side and rolled his slider and CB which created some back up action. Extremely live arm; FB holds plane at 86-88 MPH. Breaking balls range from the high 60's to low 70's. When on top, slider was the better breaking ball. Potential closer/DH or starter/DH at the right program.
NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Sturdy 5-foot-9, 180-pound right-hander. Pitching - clean arm action out of a low ¾ slot, stays consistently down in the zone, arm-side run on 83-86 MPH fastball that touches 87 MPH, commands 2-to-7 slider at 74-75 MPH, with a thick frame it is easy to see him adding velocity as he matures.
