Sullivan has a long frame with projection. He has solid bat speed and arm strength. At the Metropolitan Baseball Classic in August 2013, he squared up a 90 mph fastball off the center field wall for a double at Hofstra University. At the World Wood Bat Championship a couple months later, he made a spectacular diving catch in the left-center gap, robbing 2015 OF Daz Cameron (Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, GA) of extra bases. He recovered quickly from the dive and threw a strike to third base to nail a runner attempting to tag up from second to third.
