Notes

Comments

7/24/19

Body Type: 5-foot-11, 180-pound physical frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works quickly/uptempo delivery. Arm is on time with above average strength/speed to it. Delivery doesn’t require a ton of effort.
Fastball: 80-83 mph. High spin rate guy, living in the 2300-2400 range. Mid 90s spin efficiency. Fills it up with the pitch that he can work to both sides of the plate. With that spin when he works up the zone it is very tough for hitters to get on.
Curveball: 12/6 above average offering. Bigger shape with sharpness to it. Got consistently swing/miss or weak contact with the offering. Spins it with feel.
Pitchability: Strike thrower.
Additional Comments: Like his chances of being a quality arm at the next level. Spins everything well and the bloodlines are there. Tunnels that fastball/breaking ball combo well.

6/18/19

Body Type: 5-foot-11, 175-pound physical, athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works with good pace on the mound to a delivery that doesn’t require much effort. Over the top right-hander with obvious arm strength. Slot allows him to tunnel fastball and 12/6 breaking ball very effectively.
Fastball: 81-84 mph. Velo plays way up due to tilt and very high spin rate (22-2400). Works on a downhill. Heavy pitch.
Curveball: 68-70 mph. Spun one of the top breaking balls we saw on the day. Quality action on the 12/6 breaker that gave hitters fits all day.
Pitchability: Strike thrower.
Additional Comments: Going to be a good one. Fastball plays up and he can really spin it.
Body Type:  5-foot-11, 175-pound physical frame.
Swing Mechanics:  Open stance with a smooth load into his back leg.
Hit:  Creates a lot of separation that produces above average bat speed.  Uphill bat path.
Power:  Pop to the pull side with more to come a he continues to develop, and add size.
Offensive Projection:  Middle of the lineup guy.
Field: In the outfield he plays with athletic actions and above average ball skills. Athletic look to him out there. Corner skill set.
Throw: Arm is a big tool. Ball jumps out of hand with carry and accuracy.
Defensive Projection: Corner OF.

2/03/19

Body Type: 5-foot-11 175-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Starts in a somewhat wide setup in a crouch. Uses a toe tap load and showed a pull approach.
Hit: Showed strong hands/wrists with good barrel control.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Presently shows the ability to be a potential gap to gap threat.
Field: In the infeld he waits on the ball a bit too much with average angles and footwork through the ball. Showed a slower release than desired but throws did have good carry.
Throw: 81 mph across the diamond.
Run: 7.21 60 yard dash.
Defensive Projection: Presently would project best as a 2B guy at the next level. If his raw arm strength improves a decent bit 3B could become an option.

6/20/18

Really liked what I saw from Clegg in the box. Righty swinger with an athletic load and nice, level path. Strength and bat speed are both obvious through the zone. Barrel gets through contact with authority, generating easy gap pop with natural backspin. Run producer type. At third base he has feel for the spot with smooth action. Creates efficient angles and plays through the baseball well. Showed the arm for the spot. On the bump he works quickly with a fluid delivery that requires little effort. Arm is clean through a high-¾ slot. Presently sits 74-77 mph with signs of more velocity to come. Compliments that fastball with a sharp, 11/5 shaped breaking ball.
