6/6/17 A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2018 class. Tempo is smooth and delivery requires some effort. Arm action is longer with some quickness to it as it moves through a high-¾ slot. Spun a heavy dose of breaking balls. The pitch had some sharpness to it on an 11/5 plane at 73-74 mph. Sets up the breaking ball with his 80-84 mph that gets on hitters quicker than velo would suggest.
2/18/17 6-foot-2, projectable frame with room to fill out. Has a fluid tempo to his lower effort delivery. Has an easy leg lift and creates adequate momentum to home plate with his lower half. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Arm has some quickness to it and the ball comes out of his hand well. Fastball had slight run at times while sitting 81-82 mph. Much more velocity to come with maturity as he adds strength. Showed off one of the better changeups we saw all day. The pitch had late fade, while maintaining fastball arm speed at 72-75 mph. Spins a tight, 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 70-74 mph.
7/6/16 6-foot-2, 165-pound thinner, projectable body frame. Right-handed hitter starts from a tall, balanced stance. Has minimal load with his lower half to his back leg to help generate power into his swing. Loads with his hands moving to his back shoulder, swinging with a mostly level bat path through the zone, and finishes his swing with a two-handed follow through. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. From the outfield, he shows average footwork. He could improve by adding a crow-hop. Throws from a high ¾ slot with 79 mph. On the mound, he shows good tempo in his delivery with good direction to the plate. Long back arm action into a high ¾ slot with the fastball sitting 75-78 mph. Curveball sat 67-69 mph with gradual break on an 11/5 plane.
1/31/16 6-foot-1, 165-pound projectable frame. Ran a 4.53 from home to first. Starts in a tall set up from the right side with good rhythm to his swing movements. Uses a toe tap load with his lower half and takes his hands back to create more leverage. Uses a short, downhill path to get in and out of the zone quickly and register an exit velocity was 82 mph. Showed good footwork in the outfield with confidence in his glove. Would like to see him get more out of his crow hop. From a high-¾ slot he threw with 76 mph arm strength to home plate. On the mound, he shows some rhythm in his delivery that is very easy effort. Good direction to the plate, landing on line at foot strike. Long back arm action into a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sits 67-75 mph. Curveball sits 61-63 mph with gradual break.
