6/2/14
6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect with strong, athletic frame. Fastball sat in the low to mid 80's bumping up to 86 mph. Above average effort to his delivery. Breaking ball showed late 11/5 action. Tendency get on the side of it at times on this occasion. Also mixed in a 71 mph changeup. Overall, pounds the zone with an aggressive approach.

2/17/14
Balderson has steadily been making jumps over the past past couple of years, and he positioned himself as one of Northeast Ohio's top junior prospects at this event. While he doesn't offer a great deal of projectability, he is one of those guys that carries himself well and knows how to pitch. He throws through a high 3/4 arm slot with long arm action that shows some quickness. His fastball in the mid 80's and was up to 86 on several occasions with good late arm side run. More impressive, he showed command of multiple off-speed pitches including a 74-75 mph breaking ball with late 11/5 action and a changeup that is sold with good arm speed in the low 70's. The delivery requires a little bit of effort and he needs to work on maintaining direction with his lower half, but he is a definite follow this spring and summer.

7/29/13
6-foot, 185-pound prospect with athletic, solid frame. Showed well as a pitcher and position player. On the mound, he throws quick short arm action and quick arm speed through high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sat at 82 mph and bumped up to 83. Showed occasional sink and consistently pounded the zone. Uses a 68 mph breaking ball with gradual 11/5 action. Also used a 65-68 mph changeup. Shows some fade to the pitch, but needs to maintain arm speed for full effectiveness. Defensively, moves well around the bag at first base. Quick transfer. Showed top velocity of 82 mph on his throws. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts with a slightly open stance. Uses a leg kick in his load. Fluid swing with some quickness in the zone. Registered top exit velocity of 86 mph off the tee. Ran a 4.72 out of the box.

1/21/13
6-foot, 185-pound prospect with solid frame that offers two-way potential to schools. Right-handed bat has good power potential with solid stance and shoulder trigger. Has some loop in swing. Gets good lower body torque and two hand finish in swing (enhances pop). Ran 7.53 60-yard dash. Shows good fielding actions around the bag with solid arm strength. On the mound, he shows good delivery with quick arm speed through 3/4 slot. Fastball showed some life at 81-82 mph. Curve had some downward spin (66-70 mph); cut/slider had good bite (71-72 mph). Changeup showed feel and some arm side run (68-70 mph).
