Shows the ability to take momentum effectively down the hill and utilizing the athleticism in the delivery. On this day the arm slot was a little bit lower than we had seen in previous events with it being at more high ¾ slot. Seemed to go to more of a 2 seam fastball that featured arm side run at 72-73 mph. When wanting to keep it straight and throw to the glove side of the plate worked at 74-76 mph. Curveball was thrown for a strike throughout the entire outing with gradual 11/5 break at 59-62 mph. Two-way prospect. Uses a slight back load with hands during leg kick timing trigger. Compact stroke on a slightly downhill path. Line drive hitter with quick hands. Showed pull side tendencies in BP. Behind the dish he brings above average athleticism to the spot. High motor kid that plays fast all the time. Showed a willingness to block and receiving skills on par for class. Curveball is his best secondary offering showing the ability to spin the pitch as a get me over and as a putaway pitch. Works in an 11/5 manner with some late break and depth at 62-63 mph. Mixed in a knuckleball that shows potential at 63-64 mph. A right-handed bat that starts in a wider setup with a majority of weight on back side. Uses a short stride for timing with a bat tip load to gain barrel momentum. Compact, slightly uphill path. Fast hands through the zone with strength at contact. Laced line drives in BP with flashes of gap pop. Much louder BP than when we saw him in Cincy. Good athlete behind the dish. High motor kid that plays fast and hard all the time. Arm moves through a near over the top, creating a downhill plane on his 73-76 mph fastball. Good life on the pitch when in the zone. Offers both an 11/5 shaped breaking ball and knuckle ball for secondary arsenal. Breaking ball has big action and knuckle shows regular dance, tossing both in the zone regularly. Uses a lower than ideal slot but the ball was consistently on the bag. On the mound the righty has a slower paced tempo to a delivery that he is able to repeat. A drop and drive guy that lands in line to home plate at foot strike. Arm works through a high-¾ slot with developing arm speed. Fastball stays mostly straight through the zone. Showed the ability to use both sides of the plate with the pitch. Worked mostly with his fastball but when he did show off speed it was his breaking ball.
