1/21/18
A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Flows through his bat tip load during his leg kick timing trigger. A good athlete with noticeable natural tools through the zone. Displayed present barrel jump, with easy back spin to the opposite field. Path was mostly level and he worked through a middle/away approach. Solid young hitter. In the infield he uses direct footwork as he attacks the baseball off the bat. Tends to play from heels at times. Actions appear much more athletic/fluid on the move. Displayed average to slightly above average ball skills as he plays through the baseball.
60-Yard Dash: 7.31
Infield Velocity: 70
Exit Velocity: 75
5-foot-9, 110-pound prospect. At the plate Brandon starts with his bat vertical and uses a knee pinch load to initiate his lower half before his aggressive stride forward. Bat gets through the zone on a level path and he was able to produce consistent line drives in batting practice. Registered a top exit velocity of 62 mph. Across the infield, he uses short arm action from ¾ to high ¾ slot. Top velocity of 60 mph. Average arm strength for his age. Needs to continue playing through the ball and keep momentum moving through the baseball. Tendency to play from his heels. In the outfield he does a good job of using aggressive footwork to approach the ball and is able to play through it. He will need to learn to keep that momentum going into his throws as he has a tendency to stop his feet after fielding. Threw to home plate with 67 mph arm strength and ran a 7.78 60-yard dash.
