2/19/17
Martin brings loud natural tools to the table. Very impressively built prospect at 5-foot-11, 195-pounds. Has some rawness to his game but the raw ability is there. The Uniontown Lake outfielder ran a 6.89 and was up to 95 mph off the tee. Ball came off his bat very well in batting practice, showing impressive pop to his pull side. Athletic prospect that may project best as an outfielder. On this occasion, he worked out in the infield. Athleticism allows him to cover plenty of ground. Footwork has room to improve. Needs to create angles and direct momentum towards first base. Top velocity of 75 mph with long arm action.
60 Yard Dash: 6.89
Position Velocity: 75
Exit Velocity: 95
1/28/17
5-foot-11, 191-pound prospect. Really toolsy prospect with obvious strength and athleticism. Good feel in the outfield. Moves before contact and shows fluidity in his footwork. Short arm action with quick transfer. Top velocity of 82 mph. Strength transfers over to his swing. Aggressive hacks at the plate. Some rawness to his swing, but makes up for it with athleticism. Slight uphill path to the ball with pull power. 95 mph exit velocity. Ran a 4.42 home to first time.
6/15/16
A very physically impressive athlete at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds. Raw mechanically but one of, if not the best athletes we had at the event. An impressive looking kid that can really run. Showed electric batspeed through the zone, while driving balls deep into the gaps and putting one out in batting practice. Recorded a triple in the game. Worked out both in the infield and the outfield. At this point he is more projectable in the outfield. Has athleticism to his footwork and confidence to his glove. Did a nice job of playing through the baseball and getting use out of his crow hop. Throws showed carry with above average arm strength.
7/15/15
5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic build for his age. Right-handed hitter with a big leg kick to load and some strength in his swing. Has a slightly up hill path with 76 mph exit velocity and was 4.76 home to first. In the infield he tends to stop and field instead of playing thru the baseball. Quick transfer and throw from a high-3/4 slot with 74 mph arm strength across the diamond.
