Cayden Heller: 1B/LHP, (2022) Taylor, OH. 5-foot-9, 190-pound. At the plate, Heller had a max exit velocity of 89 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a short stride. Bat speed is quick, exhibits a flat swing plane and high finish. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 77 mph; showed firm hands, a fluid exchange, and consistent feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Solid on the mound, throws from a ¾ arm angle and has consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Threw his fastball 76-79 mph. He threw a 1/7 curveball (62-65). His changeup (66-69) has fading action.

Body Type: 5-foot-9 167-pound left-handed pitching prospect with room to add strength.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Compact delivery. Low front side coming out of lift, slightly open at foot contact. Uses a short arm action working through a ¾ slot with regular effort.
Fastball: 73-76 mph fastball shows natural run to the arm side.
Curveball: 60-64 mph curveball has a big 1/7 shape. Pitch has tight spin but shows a little early out of the hand. Potential to develop into a swing and miss pitch.
Changeup: 65-68 mph changeup has deceptive arm action. Pitch shows regular cutting action and stayed down in the zone.
Pitchability: True three pitch mix. He’s a strike thrower and both secondary pitches are at least average for his age.
Role: Should develop into a solid high school starter down the road with at least one above average secondary offering.
2/17/19 Position
Body Type: 5-foot-9 167-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Starts in a very narrow, upright stance and uses a toe tap load. Casts his barrel with an uphill path and a pull approach. Hit: Below average bat to ball ability.
Power: 78 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Looks to lift the ball to the pull side. Will need to increase his raw power and physicality for this to be a successful approach.
Field: Shows decent footwork and feel around the bag. Had what seemed to be a pretty reliable glove.
Throw: 72 mph across the diamond. Run: 4.84 home to first.
Defensive Projection: Checks the boxes defensively for a 1B at the next level if his bat can carry him there.
2/17/18
5-foot-8 and 152-pound left-handed pitching prospect. Delivery has some funk and deception to it. Stays tall through a belt high lift. Tall and fall type lower half with good direction in his stride. Arm action is short working out of a low-3/4 slot. Fastball shows regular arm side run sitting 65-68 MPH. Only secondary offering was a 56-61 MPH changeup. The pitch showed run to the arm side and cutting action when thrown to the glove side. Two-way prospect. At first base he uses quick, choppy footwork off the bag. Athleticism checks out as above average for class/position. Ball skills are developing and he will need to continue to work on ball security. Arm is fluid/loose projecting for more strength as physical maturation takes its course. A left-handed hitter that starts in an open stance. Starts movement early getting foot down prior to release. Path is level with some barrel qhip in there. An all fields hitter with line drive abilities. Projects for more juice as he matures physically. Impressive barrel feel for age.
