Charlie Niehaus: SS/2B, (2023) Archbishop Moeller, OH. 5-foot-10, 165-pound. In the box, Niehaus recorded an exit velocity of 88 mph. (62.8 mph bat speed average). (18.3 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a controlled small leg kick. Had quick bat speed, upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 87 mph; has sure hands, a clean exchange, and consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.71 60-yard dash.

Hit:Right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic stance. Quiet, efficient load followed by a level path to contact. Easy pop with impressive feel for contact. Consistently squared up line drives to the middle of the field in BP.
Power:Line drive po presently with much more. Generates natural backspin off the bat.

2/16/20 Position Player
Hit: Smooth, easy mover in the box. Uses a slight leg lift and back to forth action with lower half during slight back load to hands. Swing is compact, showing a balanced combination of strength and speed to hands. Slightly downhill trajectory in path. Line drive flight generally, with occasional gap abilities. Solid showing.
Power: Top batting practice exit velocity was 85.3 and he reached a top batting practice distance of 257 feet.
Offensive Projection: Multiple roles.
Field: Versatile defender with efficient footwork/ball skills shown in the infield and outfield. Although he looks like he has had more reps as an infielder the arm and athleticism easily translates to the outfield as well. Nice clay to mold here as a defender.
Throw: Showed 78 mph arm strength across the infield and to home plate from the outfield.
Defensive Projection: UTL.
2/16/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Athletic mover on the mound. Uses good pace to a delivery that doesn’t require a ton of effort. Arm works and he creates direction/energy with lower half.
Fastball: 75-77 mph, mostly true, physical signs of more velocity to come.
Breaking Ball: 67-69 mph, above average pitch, spins it well, sharper down action.
Changeup: 71-72 mph, more than playable third offering tossed with fastball arm speed.
