Committed to Miami (OH) out of Sinclair CC (OH).

6-foot-0, 160 pounds with a long, athletic frame. Ran a 4.47 home to first time from the left side of the dish. Uses a straight on stance with short stride; overall simplistic, compact swing. Shows good bat control as he can spray the ball all over the field. Reached a top exit velocity of 86 mph off the tee. Shows good glovework in the field while taking good, smooth routes to the ball. Reached a top arm velocity of 75 mph. One of the top unsigned position player prospects at Kent.

6-foot, 160-pound athletic build. In the infield he shows good range, but tendency to sit back and not to play through the baseball. Fields into his body and throws from a high-3/4 slot with 77 mph arm strength across the diamond. Left-handed hitter with a good set up and leg kick to load. Barrel gets in and out of the zone with 84 mph exit velocity while running a 7.38-60.
5-foot-11, 150-pound infield prospect with thin frame. Projects as a second base type at the next level. Uses short arm action. Reached top velocity of 70 mph across the infield. Needs to continue improving arm strength and playing through the baseball. At present, his best tool is his bat. Swings from the left side. Shows good balance in his swing. Uses short stride. Takes slight uphill path to the ball. Opposite field type production out of his swing.

7-10-2018:6-foot, 175 pounds, lean athletic frame with projection remaining. Similar body type to Oakland Athletics second baseman, Jed Lowrie. Offensively, he has a line drive swing with good bat control. Hits from a straight up stance with high hands and a little leg kick. Quick loose hands and good bat speed. Can drive the ball to all fields with doubles power. Good approach at the plate, works deep counts. Struggles with zone hitting which causes swing and miss issues. Average runner with good base stealing skills. Defensively, he has good range that can play at SS. Has soft hands and receives the ball with quick feet and excellent transfers. Above average arm, throws carry through his target. Overall, Shepard has a solid bat to go along with good defense, does not have any loud tools but is a very solid around player. (Joe Pera)
