2/12/17 A strong, athletic 6-foot-0, 180-pound frame. It’s hard not to walk away impressed after watching Dues. The combination of natural tools and baseball IQ make him as good of a candidate as any to be an early contributor at the next level. At the plate he has a fluid loading sequence with solid barrel whip and direction through the zone. Showed the ability to spray the ball the other way or turn on it with authority. The type of guy who can fit anywhere in a lineup. In the infield he has natural feel for the shortstop position with athletic actions and impressive glove skills. Has enough arm to stay on the left side of the infield.
6/16/14 6-foot, 155-pound thin, athletic frame. Infielder uses a short arm action coming from a ¾ slot that produces a top velocity of 79 mph. Fields the ball out front nicely, cradling it to his stomach showing some softness in his hands, tends to take too many steps on his throws to first would like to see him shorten up footwork. Left-handed hitter starts from a balanced, crouched position, doesn’t use a hands trigger, simple swing mechanics short stride. Shows the ability to use both parts of the field. Gets good follow through after contact reaching a top exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran a 4.50 from home to first.
1/20/14 6-foot-0, 155 pound freshman. Clocked in a 7.33 60 yard dash time. In the infield, he throws through a 3/4 slot with short arm action. Displays advanced actions and fluid footwork for his age. Can improve exchange/release quickness. Reached a top arm velocity of 69 mph. At the plate, the left handed hitter uses a balance setup with short stride. Simplistic left handed swing with no wasted movement. Features quick hands with an uphill bat path. Creates good lift with swing. Will be interesting to see how he progresses as his body continues to mature. Reached a top exit velocity of 75 mph off the tee.
3/1/20: Red-shirt sophomore with a high baseball IQ and baseball savvy. Good runner that was 3.97- 4.02 H to 1B on multiple trips down the line. The feet are smooth on the dirt and the glove work is very clean. Showed plenty of arm strength across the diamond. Showed quality at-bat after quality at-bat on the weekend versus Auburn's front line arms. There is easy, quick hands in the swing and he showed the ability to drive balls all over the field, mostly staying in the middle of the field. Looked relaxed in the box and seemed to never be over matched at the plate. Worked numerous at-bats deep in the count with two strikes and sprayed the ball all over the field. An extremely tough out at the plate. Looked very comfortable facing multiple LHPs. (Sharp)
