Fults has improved in every aspect of his game since we saw him in the early summer. Most noticeably was his jump behind the dish. The Butler backstop showed up at the event displaying much quicker footwork and exchange abilities, dropping his pop time by a third of a second to 1.92-1.97. In the infield he looked more comfortable and actions were noticeably improved. Ball skills stood out amongst the rest, showing the glove to play third or second base at an above average clip. Showed 81 mph arm strength across the diamond. Fults is another example of Coach Dues’ ability to develop infielders. At the plate the lefty has a quick bat and strength to his hands. A line drive type hitter who will look to stay inside the baseball but has the ability to turn on the baseball with authority. Much more pop than his 77 mph exit velocity would indicate. Ran a respectable 7.02 60-yard dash.
5/31/17 At the plate the lefty starts in an athletic setup prior to his stride forward. Creates decent energy with his lower half and takes a level path to the baseball. Creates solid separation through swing movements. Natural tools are above average and he showed impressive pop to his pull side. Skill set plays anywhere in the lineup. Behind the plate he showed quick footwork and above average transfer skills. Does a nice job gaining ground and creating direction during his transfer. Throws were on the bag for the most part. In the infield he showed solid glove skills and a very quick exchange. Would be aided by more efficient footwork prior to fielding to maintain momentum through fielding and into his throws. Remains athletic on the move.

1/16/17 A left-handed hitter that creates solid energy with his lower half through a leg kick load and well timed weight shift. Hands are fluid and movements are in sync with lower half. Showed impressive pop to pull side during batting practice. Gap to Gap pop at this stage. In the infield he does a nice job with his pre fielding footwork to play through the ball efficiently. Fields the ball out in front of his body and had confidence in his glove. Made impressive barehand play. Solid third baseman. Feet work very well behind the plate, remaining athletic and quick as he gains ground. Also displayed above average transfer skills.
