Ethan Lyke: 2B/SS, (2022) Canton Central Catholic, OH. 5-foot-8, 155-pound. Solid at the plate, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 88 mph. (60.83 mph bat speed average). (19.73 mph hand speed average). Begins in an athletic open stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed was efficient, showed a level swing plane and level finish. He found some barrels through his rounds. Line drive approach. Athletic in the infield, displayed a velocity of 82 mph; has athletic feet, a natural fluid exchange, and soft consistent hands. Showed a consistent arm action and decent accuracy to the bag.
Ethan Lyke: SS/2B, (2022) Canton Central Catholic, OH. 5-foot-8, 145-pound. Solid in the box, Lyke had a max exit velocity of 85 mph. Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed is efficient, has a level swing plane and a front foot finish. Found some barrels in his round. Line drive approach. Athletic in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 80 mph; shows a fluid exchange, athletic feet, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.13.
2/17/20 Position Player Hit: Left handed batter that starts in a crouched setup. Incorporates a toe tap timing mechanism. Hands stay inside the ball well. Some uphill in his swing creates natural loft. Power: Line drive guy at this stage. Offensive Projection: Table setter. Field: Displays quick footwork and average glove skills. Transfer could be slightly quicker but is playable. Throw: Above average arm strength through a ¾ arm slot 77 mph across the diamond. Defensive Projection: TBD. Infield.
