Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 155-pound athletic frame. Swing Mechanics: Fluid, athletic moves. Incorporates a leg kick and bat tip to loading sequence. Hit: Balanced swing with a ton of feel for contact. Laced line drives up the middle of the field in BP with natural backspin. Not overly explosive but natural tools are more than respectable. Power: 83 mph exit velocity. More pop than what we saw from him last year. Starting to show regular gap abilities. Offensive Projection: 3-hole look to him. Run: 4.47 H-1st. Field: Looks the part out there. Very mechanically sound with bounce to his step and well above average ball skills. Throw: Showed 82 mph arm strength across the infield. Uber clean arm that will continue to develop strength. Defensive Projection: Left side of infield with a chance to stick at shortstop. Additional Comments: Very fluid athlete that looks the part on both sides of the ball. Stock will rise if he can continue to become more physical.
6/06/17
Very functional athlete with fluid actions on both sides of the ball. At the plate has shows a smooth load with a loose swing. Has some twitch to hands and should see more strength arriving as physical maturation takes its course. Lifts the ball naturally. Very efficient swing in general. Any added strength should easily translate to more pop. In the infield he moves light on his feet with soft hands throughout fielding. Shows more laterally mobility than most and maintains actions on the move. Can get around the ball at times. Loose arm that projects for more strength.
5-foot-10, 135-pound prospect. A right-hander on the mound that has an uptempo delivery. A drop and drive type guy that lands slightly closed at foot strike. Arm works well through a near over the top slot. Fastball was anywhere from 75-77 mph, while working on a downhill plane. Breaking ball showed big, gradual break on an 11/5 plane at 61-64 mph. Showed developing feel for a 69 mph changeup. At the plate he showed more pop than frame would suggest. Creates solid energy into contact by an efficient, aggressive loading sequence. Weight is more on backside at contact causing an uphill path and more pop to pull side. Would be aided by transferring weight into contact to level out path and open up the entire field.
