10/15/16

5-foot-11, 176-pound athletic frame. Ran a 6.95 60-yard dash. A strong kid that creates solid energy into contact through a leg kick load and stride. His bat speed allows him to make his swing decision with his foot off the ground and weight shift into contact. Bat path is level and found the barrel consistently in game and during BP. Showed off his pop by driving balls deep into the gaps, including a home run in BP. In the infield he has athleticism to his actions and showed confidence in his glove. Moves well laterally and showed the ability to come in and make plays on the move. Threw across the infield with 74 mph arm strength.

8/7/16
6-foot, 172-pound athletic build. At the plate he starts slightly open before his short stride forward. Stay fluid throughout loading sequence. Hands move slightly back before launching the bat through the zone on a downhill path. Reached a top exit velocity of 85 mph. In the infield footwork is efficient and glove skills are adequate. Showed the ability to make plays outside of his funnel. Threw across the infield with 74 mph arm strength. Ran a 4.51 from home to first.

5/31/16
6-foot, 172-pound athletic build. Starting slightly open Gage uses a simple approach at the plate with very little load before getting the barrel in an out of the zone quickly. A line drive type at this stage with average batspeed and a flat path that allows him to consistently find the barrel. Registered an exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 4.5 from home to first. In the infield he has athletic footwork with some confidence in his glove. Expect his 70 mph arm strength to improve as he matures.
