Gavin Bragg: OF/LHP, (2023) Licking Valley, OH. 5-foot-10, 165-pound. In the box, Bragg clocked an exit velocity of 85 mph. (60.8 mph bat speed average). (18.2 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed was quick flashed, displayed an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid from the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 82 mph; had rhythmic footwork, a fluid exchange, and soft hands. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.67. On the mound, showed some arm speed with a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 73-76 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 1887; Avg 1785). Throws a 2/8 curveball (62-65) with late action. (Max spin 2134; Avg 2061). His changeup (66-68) has fading action.
2/17/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Interesting, young southpaw to follow. Has feel for his movements/can repeat. Arm works well through a ¾ slot. Delivery creates some deception. Looks to be a true 3-pitch guy. Fastball: Topped at 70 mph, mostly true through the zone, more velo to come with maturity. Curveball: 55-56 mph. Tunnels the pitch well with fastball, big slurvish action, tosses the pitch with feel. Changeup: 63-64 mph. Impressive pitch at times, good sell, late fading action.
