6/21/17

A two-way prospect in the 2019 class. Very projectable, 6-foot-6 frame. On the mound the right-hander goes with an uptempo delivery that requires some effort. Arm action is loose, and relatively clean while working through a high-¾ slot. Showed feel on the mound with confidence in all his offerings. Fastball works downhill, with some run sitting 77-79 mph. Both his secondary offerings were above average, throwing each in any count. Breaking ball has big, gradual break on an 11/5 plane. The pitch comes in at 62-67 mph, acting as both a set up and put away pitch. Uses near fastball arm speed on his 68-70 mph changeup. One of the better changes we saw on the day.  A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a toe turn load for timing. Bat moves to a strong launch position. Path is level with above average bat speed. Has power potential in there once he fills out his very projectable frame. A definite bat to follow as he matures physically. A third baseman with smooth actions. Plays with confidence. Glove skills are there, would like to see him play lower. Made all the plays in his defensive eval.
