10/15/16

5-foot-10, 185-pound solid frame. At the plate the lefty has rhythm throughout his loading sequence where he incorporates a leg kick to initiate his lower half. Hands are noticeable loose prior to launch. Bat gets through the zone on a slightly downhill path with above average bat speed. A flatter path would help his strength and bat speed lead to louder contact. Top exit velocity was 86 mph. In the outfield he shows fluid actions approaching the baseball. Fields through it nicely. Will need to get rid of the ball faster. Threw to home plate with 76 mph arm strength. Projects more as first baseman where he looks more comfortable. Gets off the bag well and glove skills are well above average. Has feel for the position. Threw across the infield with 77 mph arm strength. Ran a 7.85 60-yard dash. On the mound the southpaw has smooth rhythm to his low effort delivery.  Creates efficient momentum to home plate with his lower half and lands in line. Arm action is clean and loose. Working through a near over the top slot he sat 76-77 mph with his fastball. Curveball showed big, sharp break on a 1/7 plane.

8/7/16
5-foot-11, 190-pound strong prospect. Ran a 4.94 from home to first. At the plate he has smooth, fluid movements to his loading sequence. Batspeed and strength are above average. What makes him a good hitter is how deep he gets his barrel in the zone. Finds the barrel both in BP and game action on a regular basis. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph. An above average defensive first baseman with solid lateral movement and well above average glove skills.

2/13/16
5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect. Shows long arm action with tendency to throw across his body. Fastball showed some cutting action as it touched up to 77 mph. Changeup had similar movement at 69-71 mph. Uses two different breaking balls. His slider is faster at 68-71 mph with some tight break to it. His curveball works on two planes at 63-65 mph. At the plate he once again showed good rhythm to his load and the ability to consistently square ball up in batting practice. An aspect of his game he recently added was the ability to vary stride lengths based on timing which is one of the big reasons why he is able to find the barrel so often. Exit velocity was 88 mph. In the outfield he has athletic footwork to the ball and threw accurately to home plate with 78 mph arm strength. Would like to see him get rid of the ball quicker. In the infield he moves athletically around the bag at first base and has a quick transfer on his throws to second base. Showed off 77 mph arm strength on his throws across the infield and ran a 7.84 60-yard dash.

1/31/16
is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect with a sturdy build. From the outfield he has athletic actions with good footwork approaching the ball. He gets efficient use out of his crow hop but will need to quicken up his transfer. In the infield he looked comfortable around the bag at first base. Played low on his double play balls and threw across the infield with 77 mph arm strength. At the plate he once again impressed this winter with his ability to square the ball up to all fields. He uses a smooth load and is able to create good weight shift into contact. His flat bat path allows him to find the barrel even when he is slightly off time. His exit velocity was 88 mph and he ran a 4.34 down the line.

is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect with a sturdy build. Ran a 4.34 from home to first. Withrow took a very impressive batting practice, driving the ball to all fields. Uses a leg kick load to gather his weight and transfers it into contact during his stride. Does a good job of sequencing his load to separate his lower half from his upper half giving him the ability to be in the zone early all the way through contact with his barrel. The lefty also showed some bat speed by registering an 88 mph exit velocity. In the infield he once again looked very comfortable around the bag at first base. Showed the ability to move well laterally and field the ball out in front of his body. From a low 3/4 slot he showed 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. On the mound the southpaw uses good rhythm to a delivery that requires some regular effort. From a high 3/4 slot his fastball sat 73-76 with some natural run. His curveball had good bite to it with 1/7 shape at 62-65. Slider showed sharp, late movement across the plate at 66-67 mph. Also had good feel for his changeup, near fastball arm speed at 68-70 mph.

1/18/16
5-foot-11, 190-pound thick build. At the plate the lefty did a good job of gathering his weight through a leg kick load and transferring that weight into contact. Takes his hands back as he strides forward to remain balanced and gets them through the zone quickly with a level path. Exit velocity was 84 mph. In the outfield he projects as a corner guy. Had athletic actions and was able to field the ball out in front on his glove hand side. Used a high 3/4 slot to produce 80 mph arm strength to home plate. Moves very well laterally at first base with soft hands. Showed off 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. Ran a 8.02 60-yard dash.  On the mound the southpaw had good rhythm and direction throughout his delivery. From a high 3/4 slot he showed good feel for all of his pitches. His fastball was 75-77 mph and he used a curveball/slider combo to create different movements through the strike zone. Showed good feel for a 68-70 mph changeup.

1/16/16
5-foot-11, 190-pound thick build. The left-handed showed smooth, athletic movement in his swing. He used a leg kick for timing and an efficient scap load to create added power. Very good rhythm. Would like to see him be more explosive with his lower half. Exit velocity was 84 mph. In the infield he was able to move laterally well of the bag at first base making all the plays. Threw from a 3/4 slot with short, quick arm action at 78 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.97 60 yard dash. On the mound the lefty threw with good arm speed from a high 3/4 slot with good direction towards home plate.  His fastball was 75-77 mph with good arm side run. Has two breaking balls in his arsenal, a 62-65 curveball with big break and a 66-67 mph slider with late break across the plate. Needs to develop a better feel for his changeup that had some run at 68-70 mph.
