5/31/17
At the plate he starts in a balanced setup. Uses a short stride and bat tip for his loading sequence. Much more pop than frame would suggest. Showed solid whip through the zone and gap to gap pop. Natural tools are there. Uses aggressive footwork approach the ball in the outfield, while remaining under control. Shows a smooth transition from fielding into his throws. Incorporates a shuffle step to get momentum into his throws. Throws were mostly accurate. On the mound the right-hander uses a slower tempo, varying timing to create deception. A drop and drive type guy that lands slightly closed at foot strike. Works through a near ¾ slot with short arm action. Arm has definite quickness to it. A strikes thrower that uses a fastball slider combo mostly, flashing a changeup and breaking ball. Fastball has some run to it at 81-85 mph. Slider was the sharper of the two breaking balls, darting across the plate 72-75 mph. Breaking ball has a 10/4 shape to it with sharpness and some depth at 67-68 mph. Maintains fastball arm speed on his 71-73 mph changeup that had some fade to it. Showed impressive pitchability, throwing all the offerings in his arsenal for strikes.

6/15/16
A two-way prospect with a 6-foot, 150-pound projectable, athletic frame. A young, talented prospect that took an impressive round of batting practice. Uses a leg kick to start his loading sequence before his controlled stride forward. Hands stay simple before getting through the zone with obvious strength and batspeed. Is able to put backspin on his line drives. Much, much more in the tank than his 73 mph exit velocity would indicate. Ran a 5.01 from home to first. Also was impressive in the infield. Showed off smooth, athletic actions. Looks the part. Above average glove skills. Threw with loose arm action and 71 mph arm strength across the infield. On the mound the righty uses a fastball/curveball combination through a high ¾ slot. Has some quickness to his arm. His fastball sat 77-80 mph with late run to it. His curveball has an 11/5 shape with good depth.
