Jackson Phelps: RHP/RHP, (2022) Walsh Jesuit, OH. 6-foot-1, 190-pound. Recorded a 60 time of 7.04 at the event. On the mound, Sat with his fastball at 88-90 mph. Has hard action. (Max spin 2141; Avg 1966). Shows some sweeping action on his 11/5 curveball (72-73). (Max spin 2095; Avg 1709). Threw a 10/4 slider (76-76) with tight late action. His knuckleball showed deceiving action. Stock through way up here.

Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Has in line shoulder with an athletic balance point. Lands soft with recoil finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 83-87 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2217; Avg 2028). His 11/5 curveball (67-70) showed gradual action. (Max spin 1972; Avg 1748). He shows fading action on his changeup (75-76). Jackson Phelps: RHP/3B, (2022) Walsh Jesuit, OH. 6-foot, 185-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter's 92 mph exit velocity ranks him 2nd at the event. Began in a balanced stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was quick, and showed an upward swing plane. He barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Capable in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; had firm hands, a quick natural exchange, and average footwork. Clocked a time of 7.5 in the 60-yard dash. Solid on the mound, showed good arm speed with a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Changeup (76-77 mph), slider (68-69 mph), knuckle (62-65 mph).Threw his fastball 82-85 mph. 

Scouting Notes:Physical presence on the mound. Rolls through a chest high leg lift into a drop and drive load down the hill. Arm shows above average strength for class. Likes both of his breaking balls, giving hitters a heavy dose of spin throughout his outing. Moved the fastball around the zone well, and isn't afraid to work inside. Definite follow in 2022 class.
Fastball:79-81 mph. Fastball sinks regularly with some ASR.

Hit:Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Uses a leg kick trigger during slight back load to hands. Aggressive stroke on an uphill path. Swing plays well to oppo gap. Physical prospect with above average ghandspeed.
Power:Flashed gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Middle ceiling.

Field:Plays with direct routes in the infield. Can get to heels at times. Actions appear more athletic on the move.
Throw:Arm is top tool out there. 3/4 righty with a chance to have a well above average arm.

Delivery Notes:A definite follow in the 2022 class. Has an array of offerings that he has feel for. Near 3/4 slot with above average arm speed.
Fastball:Mostly true through the zone. Above average spin rate guy. 78-82 mph.
Fastball Spin Rate:1930-2100
Curveball:Breakingball works on a 10/4 plane with heavy action sitting in the upper 60s to 70. Slider has a bit more glide to it with not as much sharpness to it. The breaking ball grades out as the better offering presently but the slider is playable.
Curveball Spin Rate:1830-1940
Changeup:Used a knuckle that had some dance through the zone and a traditional changeup with fading action.
Pitchability: Strike thrower for the most part.

Body Type: 6-foot, 185-pound strong, projectable build.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: The right handed pitching prospect works through a high leg kick, low dive and drive with high effort motion to the plate. Near ¾ slot that he keeps high and tight with good arm action. 
Fastball: 71-74. Stays true through the zone with some arm side late action into righties. Good command with his heavy fastball, located often at the knees.
Curveball: 62-63. 11/5 gradual break, with some energetic late action that follows up a set up primary pitch. The secondary spinner is mixed in well with his fastball and placed well in all counts.
Pitchability: Watch for this projectable prospect as he continues to build on his frame and develop offspeed.
