Jacob Bean: RHP/OF, (2023) Cardinal, OH. Kent State Commit, 6-foot-2, 180-pound. Solid on the mound, used a quick arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing some arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Showed athletic balance point with downhill shoulders. Lands square with balanced finish. Threw his fastball 92-93 mph. Showed slight running action. (Max spin 2302; Avg 2128). He has slight fading action on his changeup (80-81). Threw a 10/4 slider (78-80) with late tight action. (Max spin 2015; Avg 1922).

Jacob Bean: RHP/OF, (2023) Cardinal, OH. 6-foot-2, 160-pound. Athletic on the mound, used a loose arm action with a ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has an athletic balance point. Lands square with a recoil finish. Curveball (71-73 mph), changeup (78-79 mph). Sat with his fastball at 85-87 mph. 

Scout Evaluation 

Jacob Bean: RHP/OF, (2023) Cardinal, OH. 6-foot-2, 160-pound athletic frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 89 mph. Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a toe tap. Had an upward swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. Solid in the outfield, he used momentum and arm strength to record throws up to 88 mph;showed athletic feet, soft hands, and a quick exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a ¾ slot and a loose arm action. Clocked a time of 7.22 in the 60-yard dash. Athletic on the mound, showed quick arm speed, he had a ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Curveball (70-72 mph), changeup (76-78 mph).Threw his fastball 85-87 mph.

2/15/20 Position Player
Hit: Smooth, easy stroke from the right side. Slightly downhill path. All fields appraoch with more natural backspin to middle/back side of the field. 
Power: Much more to come. A little quicker than he is physical now but tools should even up as he fills out that projectable frame. Line drive guy presently.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Field: Very quick feet in the infield with fluid actions. Showed the abilty to maintain consistent momentum throughout the process. Ball skills are ahead of the curve for class.
Throw: Clean arm with 77 mph arm strength to home plate.
Defensive Projection: Corner Outfield. 

2/15/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Easier, fluid delivery on the mound. Rolls through a chest high leg lift into a tall and fall type load. Long back arm action. Arm works. More velo to come.
Fastball: 74-78 mph. Mostly true. Should see easy velo gains.
Curveball: 64-65 mph. 11/5, big breaker. WIll tighten up with maturity. Had feel for the offering.
Changeup: Serviceable third offering. Good sell.
