Scouting Notes: Definitely some things to like here on the mound. 6-foot-2, projectable frame with feel for his delivery. Strike thrower that filled up the zone consistently with the entire repertoire. Fastball gets on hitters quicker than velo suggest as it comes out of a tough slot and angle. Breaking ball pairs well with the heater. Fastball: 76-77mph. Fastball Spin Rate: 1558-1859rpm. Breaking Ball: 63-67mph. Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1689-1812rpm. Changeup: 70-71mph.
5/29/18 A lefty stick with a simple loading sequence. Although movements are smaller they are efficient and create regular balance/timing. Swings with intent through the zone, finding plane well. An all fields hitter who can generate regular backspin. Solid performance in BP. In the infield he plays under control with soft hands through fielding. Can get to heels at times. Second baseman skill set presently. Two-way prospect. On the mound he works with quick with an uptempo pace. Arm action has some stiffness in the back prior to coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball stays mostly true through the zone, sitting 64-66 mph. Tosses a 56-59 mph breaking ball with slurvish action through the zone. Also showed some feel for a changeup at 61-62 mph. 7/18/17
A 5-foot-11, 135-pound prospect. At the plate the lefty starts in an athletic setup. Stride is long and controlled. Hands move slightly back prior to launch. Path has some natural loft. Natural tools are developing. A present contact guy but expect much more pop with added strength. In the infield he uses direct footwork on plays in his funnel. Ball skills are developing. Looked equally as comfortable with his glove on the move or in his funnel. Arm suggest second base would be the best fit at this stage. Home to First: 5.01 Inf Velo: 62 Exit Velo: 78
3/19/17 A contact type guy at the plate. Uses a simple approach mechanically and takes a level path to the baseball. Swing is compact, consistently finding the barrel in batting practice. Showed the ability to create backspin to the opposite field. In the infield he uses direct footwork approaching the baseball. Tends to play from heels on plays in his funnel. Glove skills are average at this stage. 60-yard dash: 8.29 Infield Velocity: 58 Exit Velocity: 60
