9/17/17
A physical bat from the right side. Flows through loading sequence, incorporating a leg kick while keeping his upper half quiet. Does a nice job of putting his body in position to accelerate barrel and lower half at swing decision. Bat speed is above average and strength stands out in swing. Produces routine backspin and is a gap threat. A well above average defender at first base. Has the frame for the position with feel around the bag. Footwork is mechanically sound and glove works well. On the bump he has a slower pace to a delivery that requires some effort. Arm action is shorter and arm speed is average. Throws his fastball with intent, sitting 81-82 mph. The pitch stays true through the zone. Spins an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that has depth to it at 65-66 mph. Also offers an above average changeup that has some sink to it.

5/31/17

A right-handed hitter that starts a tall, open stance. Bat starts vertical giving him added barrel whip through the zone. Lower half creates efficient energy into contact. Strong kid that gets solid extension through contact. Showed the ability to drive the ball into his pull side gap in batting practice. An above average athlete for the first base position. Showed feel around the bag and plays with fluidity. Glove skills are solid as well. A two-way prospect that had a solid showing on the mound as well. Works quickly and throws strikes. Arm has definite quickness to it and the ball comes out of his hand well. Works through a high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 79-82 mph. Gets on hitters faster than velocity would suggest. Curveball moves on an 11/5 plane with solid depth at 66-68 mph. Not a big breaker but the combination of sharpness and depth gives it more than enough movement to miss bats. Holds runners well, was 1.16-1.23 to the plate.

6/13/16
5-foot-9, 185-pound prospect. On the mound he throws with a short compact delivery. Works mainly out of a slide step, could generate more momentum by utilizing his lower half more. Throws with regular effort in his delivery. Throws with short back arm action into a high ¾ slot. Finishes square to the plate. Fastball sat 73-76 mph. Curveball sat 62-64 mph with sharp break on an 11/5 plane. At the plate he uses a rhythmic, toe tap load to initiate and incorporate his lower half. Lays bat to start before firing the barrel through the zone on a level path. Average batspeed at this stage. Registered an exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a 5.32 from home to first. Does a nice job creating angles on his double play balls. Will need to continue to work on his lateral quickness. Threw across the infield with 70 mph arm strength.
