2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Average tempo delivery with some effort. Incorporates a high leg kick to generate lower half momentum. Rolls lower half momentum downhill through release. Throws from a ¾ arm slot with a long, loose arm action. Arm looks very projectable at the next level and is one of the better 2020 arms still available.
Fastball: Shows late arm side movement. In or around the zone for the entirety of his pen.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1954-2020.
Curveball: Above average pitch. Spins an 11/5 shape breaking ball with good depth and sharp bite.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1902-1938.
Slider: Also incorporates a slider. Very effective when tunneled well with his curveball. Change of plane is minimal but deception is there.
Changeup: Shows some feel for a changeup as well. Offering has similar action to his fastball with some more late fade.
Body Type: One of the more athletic arms left in the 20’ class standing at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds with room to mature physically. Ideal body with a higher waist and short torso while gaining extension out front.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Good pace to the delivery requiring moderate effort Sinks into the backside early but effectively rides momentum down the mound creating some downhill plane. Super loose arm with quickness out front after working through a near high ¾ slot.
Fastball: Ride through the zone with life at 83-87 mph T89. Spin rate on that pitch is rpm and 100% efficiency.
Curveball: Very good offering with 11/5 bite and above average hand speed. Breaker ranged from 73-75 mph.
Changeup: Displayed only in warmups at 75 mph with some fade and look like a pitch that will be big moving forward.
Pitchability: Some real stuff on the mound with ability to work up and down with the fastball and put hitters away with an above-average breaker. Showed a good changeup in warmups that could also be mixed in and make for a starter-type mix moving forward.
