Body type:  6-foot-4, 160-pound thin and athletic frame.

Swing mechanics:  Minimal movement into his lower half.  Gathers his entire body well that engages his upper half well.

Power:  Long levers that produce above average bat speed.  Could add more pop with added size, and development.

Offensive projection:  To be determined.

Additional Comments:
Can see him getting opportunities at both short and second base. Varies right now as he has room to add to his frame which can only improve his tools as in the next two seasons. Projectable body that has more to give so keep an eye out.

1/27/18

6-foot-4, 140 pound showed a quick release from shortstop with okay arm strength. His lateral movement was swift for his size along with getting around the baseball and fielding cleanly with soft hands and good actions. Szczepanski has some defensive tools and some speed with running a 4.11 home to first from the left side and 4.19 from the right. From the right side, he had a good stride to go with his balanced stance that gets him to a level swing through the zone whereas from the left, his swing is longer and needs to stay inside the ball versus coming around the ball. Still made solid contact throughout both rounds and recorded a high of 73 mph exit velo between the two swings.

1/15/18

A right-handed pitching prospect with a long limbed, projectable frame. Delivery has a slower pace to it, requiring little effort. A drop and drive type guy who’s momentum carries him towards home plate at finish. Works through a high-¾ slot with developing arm speed. Should see easy increases in velocity to his 63-67 mph fastball as he adds strength. Spins a gradual breaking, 11/5 shaped breaking ball with developing depth and sharpness at 52-55 mph. Does a nice job of maintaining arm speed on his changeup that has late run and dive to it at 54-57 mph. Completing his arsenal is his knuckleball that had some dance to it at 51-53 mph. A switch hitter that starts in a balanced setup. From the right side lower half is smooth and repeatable. Hands move slightly back prior to lakes a level path to the baseball. Swings is compact, displaying line drive capabilities to the middle of the field. A contact type guy presently with much more to come as he adds strength to projectable frame. From the left he has a similar look mechanically while maintaining natural tools. Looks to swing with more aggression from the right and a more controlled swing from the left. Top exit velocity was 67 mph. In the infield he plays under control, using quick footwork in his approach. Fields in the middle of his body and shows urgency to his transfer. Displayed the ability to throw from multiple arm angles. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash and threw with 65 mph arm strength across the infield.
