8/6/17

Two-way prospect that was impressive off the mound. Smaller frame but arm really works. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with above average arm speed. Arm action is clean and loose. Fastball has run and sink, sitting in the low 80s. Breaking ball is very sharp, moving on an 11/5 plane. Pitch has potential to grow into a consistent swing and miss offering. A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open setup. Uses a leg lift while taking his hands back to launch. Path is level with above average bat speed. Strength is top tool. A line drive guy who can find the gap when he squares it up. In the infield he plays low and under control through the basbeall. Hands are soft and glove skills are above average. Showed enough arm for the left side. Solid defender.

1/28/17
On the mound, the 5-foot-8, 160-pound righty has an uptempo pace to a delivery that he is able to repeat. Works through a high-¾ slot with obvious arm speed. Fastball showed substantial run at times coming in at 80-82 mph. Ball comes out of his hands well and the pitch was heavy. Needs to be in the zone more consistently. Spun on of the best breakers of the day. The pitch showed very good depth with heavy action on a 10/4 plane at 67-68 mph. Changeup had a similar look to his fastball at 76-78 mph. Starts slightly open at the plate and uses a short, fluid stride to get back to even. Solid bat speed through the zone on an uphill path. Very good on pitches low in the zone. Produced consistent lines drives and showed impressive pop to his pull side. Very aggressive hitter. Defensively, he shows good anticipation. Tendency to field the ball flat when hit straight on. Needs to work on creating angles and maintaining fluidity in his actions. Athleticism is apparent when ball is hit to glove side or back hand. Needs to transfer it over with routine balls. Throws well from different angles. Has some length to his arm action, but quick release and above average arm strength.

1/19/15
5-foot-6, 145-pounds with a thin frame. The right handed hurler throws through a 3/4 slot while using short arm action. Showed excellent command of his 73-75 mph fastball, throwing plenty of strikes while working both sides of the plate. Curveball shows gradual 10/4 movement while sitting between 60-62 mph. Also mixed in a 64-67 mph changeup that shows some comeback action.
