Kristopher Jenkins: LHP/OF, (2022) Clermont Northeastern, OH. 6-foot, 165-pound projectable frame. On the mound, showed a long arm action and a ¾ arm angle with good arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Threw his fastball 76-79 mph; had arm side command and running action. Threw a 1/7 curveball (68-69) with plus action. Shows fading action and arm side command on his changeup (70-72).
2/17/19
Body Type: Typical frame for his age. 6-foot, 150-pounds. Will only aided by additional strength and development as he matures. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Short arm action out of a high ¾ slot. Ball comes out quick. Uses big, in-ward turn and leg kick out of the windup. Engages lower half and core. Overall, athletic delivery out of windup and stretch. At times, has tendency to land closed at foot strike. Fastball: Mostly 76-77 mph with natural cut. Consistently in the zone. Easy to see velo jump coming. Curveball: One of the better breaking balls on the day. Typically 66-67 mph. Thrown with good arm speed and out of same tunnel as his fastball. Late, two-plane action. Effective out pitch already. Changeup: Looks more like a cut fastball than a changeup. Thrown with good arm speed and sat at 71-72 mph. Needs to work on greater variance from his FB, but present pitch should be an effective third pitch. Summary: Already shows feel for three pitches. Velocity isn’t overwhelming at this age, but he hasn’t thrown a pitch in a high school jersey yet. The arm is quick and the velo should come. Definite follow in the 2022 class.

Body Type: 6-foot 155-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Starts his swing with a toe tap load. Has a slight cast of his barrel around the zone with a flat bat path.
Hit: Good bat to ball ability.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Swing has some areas that need to be addressed but he shows good natural barrel control and decent raw power considering some of the mechanical deficiencies in his swing. Should at least develop into a gap to gap threat as matures and adds strength.
Field: In the outfield he attacks the ball and plays through the ball well. Shows an average release on his throws.
Throw: 80 mph from the outfield.
Run: 4.52 home to first.
Defensive Projection: Shows serviceable skills and raw physicality for all three OF spots considering his age. How he develops physically will determine which OF spot will be the best fit at the next level.
5/4/18 An athletic southpaw with the actions scouts look for on the bump. Jenkins showed an uptempo pace with some effort in his outing. Throws from a high-¾ arm slot with a quick arm action. Fastball sat 74-76 with slight arm-side run. Jenkins breaking ball had 2/8 movement and sat 65-66 in the zone. Slows him arm down a bit on his changeup that sat 70-71. Projectable arm with added strength.
6/28/17 A left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced, slightly open setup. Gets back to even through a leg kick load and controlled stride. Upper half moves slightly back with fluidity. Flashed obvious natural tools through the zone. Path is mostly level with loft to his pull side. Looks to be a middle of the lineup guy. Should grow into some power as he fills out his frame. A well-above average athlete for the first base position. Moves well off the bag and showed quickness to his transfer on his double play balls. Tends to field from heels inside his funnel. Glove skills are average at this stage. A two-way prospect. In the windup, he starts tall and uses a high leg kick. Short arms the ball and throws from a lower 3/4 arm slot. He gained little ground off delivery cutting himself off. Had a slower tempo and hid the ball well during delivery. His FB had a little downhill run. His greatest tool was his sweeping CB which was a swing and miss every time. 1/7 CB that was untouchable for LHH and some RHH. FB: 69-73 mph CB: 60-62 mph CH: 61-62 mph 60-yard Dash: 7.77 Infield Velocity: 74 Exit Velocity: 75
