5-foot-9, 155-pound. Right-handed hitting middle infielder. Smaller frame with room to add strength, begins with an open stance, initiates the lower half with a toe tap. Show some quickness in the back on a slightly upward plane creating some loft. Registered and 85 mile an hour exit velocity. In the infield shows a quick first up and moves well laterally to both sides solid transition and accurate throws registering 78 mph across the diamond. Also ran a 4.65 home to first.

Newsom is a well rounded player whose skill set translates to the next level. Good athlete with above average footspeed. Ball skills are impressive up the middle. Skill set plays on either side with a higher ceiling at second base. At the plate he has a balanced swing with a compact path through the zone. Line drive guy with feel for the barrel. Can use the entire field.

A well-rounded player that put together a solid performance on both sides of the ball. Up the middle he does a nice job with his feet to create angles and maintain rhythm throughout fielding sequence. Skill set leans towards second base but could also windup at shortstop at the right level. At the plate he really sees the ball well. Knows the strike zone and works counts. When he does pull the trigger he shows a nice, compact swing with above average batspeed through the zone.

A right-handed hitter that starts in slightly open setup. Gets back to even through a toe turn load. Uses a bat tip to get his upper half started. Swing is compact on a slightly uphill path. Top of the lineup type guy with a quick bat. In the infield he showed athleticism to his actions and confidence in his glove. Gets solid reactions off the bat with a quick first step. Glove skills are adequate.
