Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Delivery showed some deliberations throughout. Sits straight down into back leg and mixed between an over the top release point and low ¾ release point.
Fastball: 74-77 mph. Over the top arm action produced mostly straight fastballs. Low ¾ arm action produced armside run and sink.
Curveball: 63-64 mph. 12-6 shape at times. Still developing.
Changeup: 61-62 mph. Stayed mostly straight. Thrown with fastball arm speed.
Pitchability: Commanded the zone with all 3 pitches. Needs to continue to develop secondary offerings for them to be effective offerings.
Additional Comments: Needs to get stronger and delivery needs to become more fluid to see velocity increase.
2/17/19
Swing Mechanics: Upright stance followed a toe-tap loading process. Level swing path produced as he goes to strike the baseball.
Hit: Made nice contact overall throughout his round. Harder contact generated more towards the middle of the field.
Power: 80 mph exit velocity. More left in his tank.
Offensive Projection: Multiple roles.
Run: 8.27 60-yard. Field: Defensively he shows nice hands and his glove fielded grounders. Footwork displayed some stiffness which is improving as athleticism was shown during his turn.
Throw: 78 mph across the diamond. Defensive Projection: Third base.
2/18/18
5-foot-11, 185 pound infield prospect has a sturdy build to him had an average glove defensively at shortstop working on creating more fluid actions. Footwork showed nice mobility with improvement on staying balanced. Quick release of the ball once fielding it. Threw across the diamond with a 71 mph velocity. At the plate he starts in a taller, atheltic setup. Movements are well timed and fluid. Double tap acts as timing mechanism while barrel flows to a strong launch position. Impressive feel for class, finding the barrel often. Produces natural ball flight when he stays inside the baseball. Solid hitter that has more in the tank. On the mound the right hander has an average pace delivery with a slight hitch in his back leg. Throws from a ¾ slot. Tends to fall off the mound towards first after release. Fastball moves like a two seam coming at 71-74 mph with occasional downhill movement as well. Curveball gradually breaks on an 11-5 tilt at 58-61 mph. Decent command. Slows his arm down on his changeup slightly that will range anywhere from 56-61 mph. Mixed in a slider to round out his arsenal. Shows developing side to side movement. Showed ability to work both sides of the plate in his bullpen.
